| 14 April 10.55pm | California send out warning for ice 8-16 nautical miles north of Titanic, but when the warning reach Titanic the telegraphist aboard Titanic answer "Keep out! You're disturbing my signal, I have contact with another ship." | |
| 14 April 11.30pm | The look out on Titanic spot a small haze ahead of the ship. | |
| 11.40pm | Titanic has a speed of 21 knot when the look out spots an iceberg approx. 500m ahead, the berg is about 16-18 m high. First mate gives immediate orders to turn the ship, but it's too late.. The ship strike the iceberg. The passangers doesn't notice anything. 10 minutes later the first five boiler rooms are under water. | |
| 12.00am | The mailroom, which is 7m above the keel, starts to take in water. Captain Smith gives orders of sending out SOS. | |
| 15 April 12.05am | The lifeboats are uncoverd, the water reahes 10m above the keel. The lifeboats can only take 1178 people, 2227 people are aboard the Titanic | |
| 12.10am to 1.50am | The crew on California(8-16 nautical miles from Titanic) see lights from a steamer, attempts to contact the unknown ship are made, fireworks can bee seen above the ship, but the fireworks are too low to be taken as emergancy rockets. The distance between the two ships are getting bigger until the ship disapears. | |
| 12.15am to 2.17am | Several ships hear the SOS from Titanic, among theese her sister ship Olympic (430 nautical miles from Titanic), those who hear the signal change course immediatle and goes towards Titanic. | |
| 12.15am | The ship's orchestra plays in the first class saloon, but moves out on the deck. | |
| 12.20am | The crewarea, 20m above the keel are under water. | |
| 12.25am | Orders are given to get the women and children down in the lifeboats. Carpathia (50 nautical miles away) takes immediate course towards the sinking ship. | |
| 12.45am | The first lifeboat is lowered, it has room for 65 people but only 28 is in the lifeboat. A ship is spotted and several attempts of contacting the ship is made but the ship disapears into the night. | |
| 12.55am to 1.40am | Lifeboats are lowered down. Several with fewer people than the maximum. Aboard one of the lifeboats is Bruce Ismay, the owner of Titanic. | |
| 1.45am | The last words Carpathia hears from Titanic is "... engine room filled with water to the boilers...". One of the lifeboats leaving the ship have room for 40 people but only 25 are aboard. | |
| 2.05am | More than 1500 people are still on the ship, which now has water only three meters from the boatdeck. The last lifeboat is lowered, it has room for 47 but there are only 44 in it. | |
| 2.17am | Captain Smith returns to the bridge to wait for the end, the constructor of Titanic, Thomas Andrews, is standing alone in first class smoking room, Many passengers and crewmemvers jump overboard into the icecold water, many of theese people die when Titanic's front funnel collapses and falls into the deep sea. A lifeboat that has been tied to the ship floats away and are quickly overloaded by people in the water, several are takenaboard lifeboats that are still in the area. | |
| 2.18am | The light aboard Titanic goes out, a loud noise can be heard inside the ship when the furnishing falls towards the more and more leaning front. The ship breaks into two parts. | |
| 2.20am | The stern straighten it self, but then slowly sinks to its grave 4000m below. More than 1500 people are aboard the ship. | |
| 3.30am | From the lifeboats fireworks can be seen from Carpathia who now has a speed of 18 knots (the normal speed for Carpathia is 15knots). | |
| 4.10am | Carpathia pick up the first lifeboat. | |
| 8.30am | Carpathia pick up the last lifeboat, makes a final search through the catastophe area to find survivers. | |
| 8.50am | Carpathia is heading for New York, 705 survivers have been picked up. Bruce Isamy who is aboard notify the White-Star company in New York about the catastrophe. | |
| 17 April | Mackay-Bennett have been hired by White-Star, leave Halifax and take course two the catastrophe area in search for bodies. | |
| 18 April 9.00pm | Carpathia arrives to New York where more than 10000 people are waiting including many many journalists. | |
| 22 April | White Star sends out another boat to the catasrophe area, Minia. Mackay-Bennett finds 306 bodies, Minia finds 17 after a weeks search. | |
| 24 April | Titanic's sister ship, Olympic is hit by a strike, here "black gang" (the stokers) refuse to work on a ship that hasn't enough lifeboats. Olympic was supposed to leave Southampton but has to stay there. | |
| 6 May | Montmagny is sent out to look for bodies, returns with four bodies. | |
| 15 May | Algerina is sent out on the same mission, only one bodie is found. Totally 328 bodies have been found. | |
| 2 May to 3 July | Britsh Board of Trade makes an investigation of the catastrophe, 96 witnesses are questioned. The conclusion is that a ocean steamer should have more water proof walls and enough lifeboats for everyone and a better look out. | |
| 1913 April | The International Icepatrol is founded for watching the shiprouts in the northern Atlantic. The icepatrol is lead by the US Coast guard. | |
| 1914 February | Titanic's second sister ship, Britannic, is launched. | |
| 1929 18 November | The Grand Banks earthquake is said to have started a underwater mudslide which have buried Titanic. | |
| 1935 | After 24 years of duty, among other things transporting troups in the war and after four big repairs, retire Olympic . She has gone over the Atlantic ocean 500 times, almost 1,5 million nautical miles, she got the nickname "Old and realiable". | |
| 1980 July | The Amreican explorer Jack Grimm starts an expedition to hopefully find the wrech after Titanic, but has to blow off the search since the weather is getting worse. He tries again 1981 and 1983 but then the costs are to high without any good results. | |
| 1985 1 September | A French-American expedition lead by Dr Robert Ballard discover the Titanic at a depth of 4000m | |
| 1986 July | Ballard returns to Titanic, he now use the sub Alvin to dive down to the wreck and taking photographs. | |
| 1987 | The Congress in USA takes a step towards making Titanic an international memorial site. A French expedition take up about 900 objects from the wreck. | |
| 1996 August | An expedition tries to take up a bigger part from the wreck. When it's 600m left to the surface the wires goes off and the object sink back down to it's restingplace. | |
