This space used to hold a link so you could add yourself to get an e-mail whenever
this page was updated, but the service (from netmind.com) is no longer available.
It's still a good idea I think, and if you really want it you can set it up yourself
using changedetect.com.

Le Guin's World is
still alive
In spite of the lack of updates I'm still here. Also, the e-mail address
leguinsworld@mail.com is
now working again. (the mail quota was filled - an unfortunate combination
of me not looking there, a flood of herbal essences spam and a lot
of submissions of scans for the cover
gallery) |

Sci-fi channel are reportedly working on adaption of both The
Earthsea trilogy and The

Over 15,000 visitors
On saturday(24 Nov) we had the 15,000th visitor to Le
Guin's World in the last two years.
|
| 23 Nov 2001 |
Got news about a new forthcoming Le
Guin collection, The Birthday
of the World and Other Stories, scheduled for march or
april 2002. It seems to collect some random stories and include a
few new ones. Thanks to Nick Gevers for telling us about it. |

Hello again! After some technical problems and some hectic times
in general, it's about time to do some new work on this site. Actually,
there have been some minor updates here and there for some time,
but nothing major.
We're happy to note that Le Guin's World has been listed in BBC
WebGuide in the WebGuide > Arts > Authors section.
The Other Wind is
published, The Other Wind
comes as an audio cassette, and The
Telling is now out in paperback.
|
| 25 july 2001 |
Enter a new section of the site: Inspired.
Nothing much here right now, but this is where you'll find fan artwork,
writeups, games or whatever based on Le Guin's stories. First off
is Rizwan Virk's script for a Wizard of Earthsea movie. >> Inspired |

Fixed the search engine which hasn't
been working properly. (Or, indeed, at all). Also posted some new
covers, including the cover of the forthcoming Earthsea
novel The Other Wind. |
| 20 june 2001 |
Well, actually there have been a number
of minor updates since december that have not been noted here. Added
a book review here and corrected some info there... also, there is
now a book cover gallery with front
covers from around the world. |
| 1 dec 2000 |
Another set of updates. new layout,
and a search engine. Some new pages, some new info here and there.
Corrected some minor errors. |
| 1 oct 1999 |
Right, a new batch of updates.
Everything is updated once again. This time I'm using Macromedia
Dreamweaver 2.0 (instead of hacking everything by hand). Dreamweaver
actually works, so why not use it?
Anyway, there are tons of new stuff too. A lot
of new pages on Le Guin's non-fiction and children's books and more.
|
| 19 jan 1999 |
Time for a major new release. The layout is improved -- well, it's
different, at any rate -- and some new graphics has been added.
Some stuff has been moved out of the encyclopedia on to pages of
their own. (In the Guides area). The Site
Map now contains all the "leaf" pages as well as pages
higher up in the hierarchy.
|
| 14 dec 1998 |
Minor updates. Replaced some of the graphics. Fixed a bad link
for Jan Griffin's article about the Earthsea
series. Chacked all pages with HTML Validator. Added a book page
for The Eye of the Heron. Fixed some typos.
Oh, and the pages are now white, not blue.
|
| 10 aug 1998 |
Updated the awards section.
|
| 8 aug 1998 |
Updates. More pages for specific books. For the encyclopedia there
is now an A-Z index in a special frame. Instead of scrolling through
the entire encyclopedia you can now jump directly to the letter
you're looking for.
|
| 5 aug 1998 |
Le Guin's World 2.0 launched. This is the new HTML4.0 version with
style sheets. Every single page is updated. Mostly, the changes
are in layout and structure rather than in content, but there are
more reviews and just more of everything.
Also, the site has moved! The URL is still
surf.to/le.guin but the physical location is on Passagen
rather than on GeoCities.
The "real" address is now hem1.passagen.se/peson42/lgw/.
Tossed out the guest book for now. Does anybody miss it?
|
| 31 May 1998 |
Minor fixes. More focus on the short URI: http://surf.to/le.guin.
Started making pages more html 3.2 compliant. Updated logo. Updated
front page: this should be easier to read. Updated bibliography:
The Earthsea Quartet exists in one volume. Updated bio: Added
Le Guin's brothers. (Is this trivia or what?)
|
| 12 May 1998 |
Removed the copies of Danny Yee's reviews. From now on,
you'll have to follow a link to his own site, where they are still
available. Also trimmed things here and there.
|
| 13 Mar 1998 |
Finished the new release of Le Guin's World.
Rearranged things, gave the entire site a new, cleaner layout, added
more reviews, removed some outdated links... and added this
page. And more.
