Didjeridoo History



The origin of the Digeridoo is not accurately known but some research indicates that the Didjeridoo(Also spelt Didjeridu.) ore the Yakadi is one of the oldest musical instrument on earth, and that it¥s been played for more than 40000 years by the aboriginees. It is a wooden tube instrument, containing only one hole were the musician blows in.The original ones are made by the eucalyptus tree witch have been holowed out by ants. A mouthpiece is formed at the end of the tube using bees wax or resin.

This instrument has been used in the past as well as today in spiritual ceremonies, sacret initiations and vibrational healing rituals by the aboriginees.By imitating the nature the aboriginees gets a sound of the Australian outback.The ancient drone of the Didjeridoo is said to be the voice of the earth.The voices reaches deep into our subconscious mind and allows us to enter the "dreamtime" or the collective consciousness of the universe.It is there that we learn about ourselves.

There is many different aboriginal tribes, and not all of them are playing the Didjeridoo. And in the tribes witch do maintain the tradition, not all people play. Many tribes limit Didjeridoo playing to men and boys, thought in some tribes woman also play.A legend talks about that if a woman plays the Didjeridoo, she is likely to give birth to twins. Being a nomadic hunter gatherer people, the extra mouth to feed is seen as a liability; one baby may then be killed.
