THE SKREA 177 SITE
Picture #1: Landscape

The Skrea 177 settlement is located at the Skrea plain. The former wet area is today totally cultivated. But until the end of the 19th C. only the low and sandy hills, partly glacifluvial deposits, were ploughed.
The picture is taken from the Skrea Backe, consisting of a moraine ridge (drumlin).

The northern part of the settlement was excavated in 1994. In the background is the Skrea Backe drumlin.

The settlement is located on a glacifluvial deposit consisting of gravel and sand. The excavated part of the settlement is located to the right of the farmstead, on the far left hand side.
The excavation was caused by the construction of the E6/E20 highway between Falkenberg and Halmstad.
