Terry Pratchett Terry Pratchett was born the 28th of April, 1948 in Beaconsfield, Bucks. He got his first short-story published when he was thirteen years old. Terry was obviously in line for a bright future. In 1965, he joined the Bucks Free Press and wrote reviews for a publishing company. He later got in contact with people on the company and asked them if they could publish a book for him. So they did and the book got very good reviews and Terry was encouraged to continue. In 1980, Terry was appointed Publicity Officer for the Central Electricity Generating Board with responsibility for three nuclear power stations. But in 1983, he wrote his first Discworld novel, The Color of Magic, and that changed his life. In 1987 he realized that he would never have to work again, after the books: The Color of Magic, The Light Fantastic, Equal Rites, Mort and Sourcery. Up to now he has written more than twenty Discworld novels, and there is more to come...
