Easy Textures - Stucco 1
You have probably seen this kind of texture used as background on many web pages.
There are many variations of pattern structures and colors. This, and the other stucco
tutorials, will show you how you can make your own stucco textures (you donīt have to steal them anymore).
Start with a new image, Size 300x300.
Background Color: White, 16 Million Colors.
Step 1:
Choose Image - Special Filters - Add Noise.
Choose Random - 100 % Noise.
Step 2:
Choose Colors - Greyscale.
Then Colors - Increase Color Depth - 16 Million colors.
Step 3:
Choose Image - Deformations - Motion Blur.
Set Direction = 135 Deg, Intensity = 40 Pixels.
Do this one more time, but change the Direction to 225.
At this stage you probably see nothing more than a light grey color on the image.
Step 4:
Set the foreground color to White.
Choose Image - Special Effects - Hot Wax Coating.
Do this 2 times. The image should now look like this:
Step 5:
Letīs give it some color. Choose Colors - Colorize.
For this example I used Hue = 25, Saturation = 120. You may try other settings for other colors.
Step 6:
Finally we are going to make the structure sharper and then resample it.
Choose - Image - Normal Filters - Sharpen or Sharpen More. I used Sharpen More two times.
I then resampled the image to 200x200, and sharpened one more time. I saved it as JPG with a compression of 75.
Here it is:
