Easy Textures - Soft Marble

When you have done this tutorial, you probably understand that there are almost endless variations to try. This texture is a result of my own experiments with PSP. Just go ahead and play around.

Start with a new image, Size 300x300 (or whatever you prefer),
Background Color: White, 16 Million Colors.

Step 1:
Set Foreground Color to Black.
Click on the Airbrush Tool and choose: Size = 10, Shape = Round, Opacity = 50, Paper texture = None. Draw some lines on the image (see below). Try variations for other final results.

Step 2:
Choose Image - Deformations - Motion Blur.
Set Direction = 135 Deg, Intensity = 40 Pixels.

Step 3:
Choose Image - Deformations - Motion Blur.
SetDirection = 90 Deg, Intensity = 40 Pixels.

Step 4:
Choose Image - Special Filters - Dilate.
Do this procedure 3 times.

Step 5:
Choose Image - Sharpen More. Save the image as JPG. I used a compression of 70.

If you want, you may colorize the image. Just choose Colors - Colorize and try various settings with the Hue and Saturation.
For the Soft Marble image on the Nuts & Bolts page, I used Hue = 10, Saturation = 40.

The text effect was done by editing the text on the image. Then I saved the selection and deleted the text by pushing the Delete button on the keyboard. I then opened the selection and used the cutout effect (Image - Special Effects - Cutout).
