Easy Textures - Leather

Start with a new image, Size 300x300.
Background Color: White, 16 Million Colors.

Step 1:
Choose Image - Special Filters - Add Noise.
Choose Uniform - 50 % Noise.

Step 2:
Choose Colors - Greyscale.
Then Colors - Increase Color Depth - 16 Million colors.

Step 3:
Set foreground color to dark Red: R=128, G=0, B=0.
Choose Image - Special Effects - Hot Wax Coating.

Step 4:
Now we are going to use the Motion Blur deformation three times, with different Direction settings (180, 90 and 315).
Choose Image - Deformations - Motion Blur.
Set Direction = 180 Degrees, Intensity = 10 Pixels.
Do this procedure two more times, but use the directions 90 and 315 degrees.

Step 5:
With White as foreground color, choose Image - Special Effects - Hot Wax Coating.
Do this procedure 3 times.

Step 6:
The final step is to resample the image and then to sharpen it.
Choose Image - Resample - 150x150.
Choose Image - Normal Filters - Sharpen More. I did this 3 times, but this is really a question of personal taste.
