A Woody Logo
Start with a new image, Size 400x250, Background Color: Black, 16 Million Colors.
Comment: When making smaller images, I find it easier to work with larger dimensions
and finally resample / resize it to the wanted size. I also recommend you to save your
image often in case something unexpected happens (it will). I prefer the TIF or BMP format
because if you save directly in GIF, you wont be able to apply all effects on the image.
Step 1:
Select a brown foreground color. I used R = 170, G = 85, B = 0.
Select Black as background color.
Step 2:
Click on the Text tool
and then click on the image.
I used the font Arial, Style = Bold, Size = 60.
Be sure to tick Antialias and Floating.
Type the text and click OK.
Step 3:
Move the text to the center of the image.
Itīs important to have
the text selected during the whole process.

Step 4:
Click on the Flood Fill button
.
Select Match mode = RGB Value, Tolerance = 200, Fill style = Solid Color.
Move the
cursor to the selected text and fill it with black color by clicking with the right mouse button.
Step 5:
Click on the Airbrush button
.
Choose Size = 30, Shape = Round, Opacity= 70, Paper texture = Woodgrain.
Paint by holding down the left mouse button and move the brush tool around over the selected text in
various directions untill you get the result you want.

Step 6:
Choose Selections - Invert.
Use the Airbrush again (with the same
settings) to paint the selected area around the text.

Step 7:
When satisfied with the result, choose Selections - Invert.
With the text still selected, choose Image - Special Effects - Cutout.
Make sure that the "Fill interior with color" is not ticked. Select Shadow
color = White, Opacity = 150, Blur = 5, Offset Vertical = 2, Horizontal = 2. Click OK.
Go to Cutout again, but now select Shadow color = Black, Opacity = 220, Blur = 5,
Offset Vertical = -2, Horizontal = -2. Click OK.

Step 8:
Choose Image - Special Effects - Add Drop Shadow.
Select Color = Black, Opacity = 255, Blur = 36, Offset Vertical = 4, Horizontal = 4.
Click OK.

To get the wanted size, choose Image - Resample.
Tick "Custom size" and "Maintain aspect ratio".
Type 220 as width (in this case), and just click the left mouse button with the cursor in the field to the right.
The appropriate height will be applied automatically.
I saved this image as a .JPG file with a compression of 15%.
