The ledgend of how Cyphotilapia frontosa became the solitare ruler of Lake
Tanganyika
Once upon a time there where two mighty cichlid species in lake Tanganyika, Boulengerochromis
microlepsis and Cyphotilapia frontosa. They were constantly arguing and fighting about which one of
them who was the ultimate Tanganyika cichlid, and thus Boulengerochromis was much larger, The
frontosa always won the heavier fights.
One Day frontosa said...
- I'm tired of having to worry about you all the time, lets have a final battle and the one that wins is the
rightful emperor of Lake Tanganyika.
- Hmm, Boulengerochromis said, Okay lets race across the Lake at its widest point.
frontosa accepted this and started preparing for the race... He knew that Boulengerocromis was
much faster than he was and therefore he had to use his whit to conquer him.
Then the race started and Boulengerocromis took off out into the open water at a tremendous speed,
frontosa in the other hand had no rush, he still stood at the same spot as before the race. Slowly he
turned at the large mass off surprised cichlids that had heard about the race,
- Boulengerochromis has made his choice, he choose to live in the open waters and he has left the
shores for me to rule, He and his kind is from this moment only allowed to come to the shallow
waters once a year to spawn.
And this is the way it has been for every year since,
So be nice to your frontons, or they just might conquer you position as the master of your house, I
have already heard roomers about Aquarius's who have be banned from their own homes.
But don't fear, they are harmful as long as they get enough of space, clean water and good food. But
please do not ignore these three things it can be bat to your own health...
