A little history of:

BOLTON WANDERERS FOOTBALL CLUB  

Bolton Wanderers

                 Formed in 1874 as a Sunday School side,
                 Christ Church. This connection ended in 1877
                 when they adopted their present name. Turned
                 professional in 1895 and were Football
                 League founder members. Moved from Pikes
                 Lane to present ground in 1895. Members of
                 the reorganised Division One on formation of
                 the Premier League, they were promoted to
                 the Premier League for the 1995-96 season
                 and, after being relegated straight back,
                 bounced back into the top flight at the first
                 attempt as Division One Champions.
